Thank you friend,
I'm very honored to be represented here...
Frank Herbert is/was a great inspiration in my life.
I read "Dune" in 1970(at age 16) and it had such a profound effect on my life at the time,
my mother was able to secure an interview with Herbert when I visited her in Marin county ,Ca. but he had to cancel at the last minute because of an illness.I always regretted not being able to pick his immaculate brains about the story. But regardless it has remained my favorite epic saga of all time...

wow, very cool!
i think he was a genius... and he was great at expressing his thoughts in the form of really well-written stories. a unique thing, i believe...

I was totally bummed when he died.

all the stories he'll never write...

And his son trying to continue his work just didn't quite make it IMHO...

I enjoyed the movies made of Dune,
Both the David Lynch version and the Sci-Fi Channels 3 hour production.
I love science fiction ,but rarely see it done well in the movies.
The recent Star Trek film was one of the best representations of this genre.
Blade Runner is my all time favorite though...

i think it's alive and well as a genre... but as our faith in our ability to travel to the stars has decreased, we see our future differently...
